They definitely weren't known for their plush ride. But they were never designed (or marketed) for that.

I don't know but I had a 2004 and loved it. I had a bad stretch where I totaled 3 vehicles in a year and the 4 runner was the first to fall.

Limited 4x4 ones are bringing top dollar nowadays. I saw a black 2000 limited 4x4 at a dealership that was pristine with 120k listed for $15k. I'd bet money they got more than $10k for it. Actually thought about getting it for my little sister, but she wanted a car instead

Just seems dumb to make an SUV with a suspension that feels like a 95 Mustang.
