Children are going to be using the switch, and yes, hopefully they fix this - but everything I've seen on this, is it's only hard to take off if you put it on wrong. the Plus marks on the wrong side, put it on backwards, put the left on the right, etc.
You shouldn't even be able to lock it in place if you are trying to put it on wrong though
