Watcha dearkier, what a great movie.
Can I assume that the adamantium was killing Logan, or was it cancer or something?
Really wish this movie would have come 5 years ago or so. Then the end could have had Logan taking on Prof X's role of watching over all the kids. Eventually dieing after a trilogy or so. Just really liked how this was done vs prior xmen movies.

That's what they were implying

They imply it pretty strongly. I personally like to think of it as one thing amongst many, especially if we are supposed to buy into the short time between DOFP and this movie.
I think the Westchester Incident badly scarred Logan on top of all the baggage he already had. Bad enough that he started to lose the will to live, which weakened his healing ability, which needed to stay in top shape to hold back adamantium poisoning. Start an downward feedback loop.
Supportive evidence for this, outside of how haunted they made him both in dialogue and constant drinking, even on the job, is in the fact that Caliban brings it up as if it is something relatively new.
And relatively new on the time scale on the Westchester Incident, which was when Caliban was brought into the fold and would have gotten a baseline for Logan's health.
