I didn't say it was a Constitutional right.
Then why for fricks sake was the Supreme Court of the United States of America hearing it, and then ruling on it if it wasn't a Constitutional right issue being denied people in this country?
Hint... It's a State issue, and if there's unfairness being done to people in regard to marriage it's in our federal tax codes. That's what needs to be fixed.

Ain't gotta waste money on gay to do that.
You can do that right now for free.

then we are denying that right to other men created equal who want to marry their family members, or pedophiles wanting to marry children
What the frick? are you stupid, how is being gay anything like incest or pedophilia? Seriously, let me know how you think these three things are all connected somehow. Gay people can get married and that right isn't going away anytime soon, get over yourself

You began your adventure in this thread with a reply to me, and have continued to do so. You're upset now because I pointed out some confusion. It's no less weird now than it was then for you to continue denying that to be the case.
I have no problem with it.
Just a problem when you try to take it out of context and use it against me.
You replied to me not from my reply to you, but in my reply to others.
Again fine, but you took it out of context.

I say it because I'm not from "the good old days".
I brought it in because it's the most popular LGBT topic currently.
Who I hang out with has nothing to do with what society is pushing on children. My claim to this generation being fricked up can be tracked by pretty much any news outlet over the past few years.

Its not, but pedophiles, their prey, and people who practice incest still have constitutional rights they are guaranteed, and so if marriage on par as being a human right, and it being denied them, then how do you reconcile a basic human right being denied them as well?
Its intended to demonstrate how utterly absurd it is to call it a basic human right in the first place, not to equate pedophelia and incest to homosexuality. If something is an unalienable human right. It cannot be denied them. Who are you to deny an aunt from marrying her nephew, or a father from marrying his daughter when they are two consenting adults who are being denied access to their basic human right of marriage?

Another poster: It's the normalization in American society that's changed and almost overnight.

Me: That's a great thing. If only we could move that quickly on other issues.
quote:
You: On the trans issues, it certainly is not a great thing. There are serious problems with it. That certainly feels like its being pushed on us.
quote:
Me: That isn't what was said.
I get that it's the only real point you have, but stop trying to steer everything to it.
quote:
You: You have been using these same tactics over and over.
quote:
Me: Correct. The thread is about a "gay moment" in a Disney movie, and the mistaken belief that there is indocintration inherent to that.
Let's stay on topic.
quote:
You: From the article.
In a new Attitude feature, Condon reveals that Josh Gad’s portrayal of LeFou — the goofy sidekick to Luke Evans’s macho egomaniac Gaston — will actually be a character struggling with his sexuality. As Condon says:
“LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston. … He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings. And Josh makes something really subtle and delicious out of it. And that’s what has its payoff at the end, which I don’t want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.”
Clearly more than two dudes kissing.
Edit: As an adult that is fine. As a child, its a bit much especially depending on their age.

Me: No mention of transgenders in there.
Your last post is where the confusion began. You replied to my post, then accused me of "jumping in" when I continued replying to this discussion point.
Let me know if you're still confused.

They don't have a right to prey on children.

Not according to the 14th Amendment as cited in Loving v. Virginia.
Also, as far as it being a human right, you might be interested in the unanimous opinion from that case:
quote:
Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival.... To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State's citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.

You're right, they absolutely do not have that right, but they do have the right to marry. Are you saying there are restrictions to the "right" to marry? Like being one man and one woman kind of restriction, or two consenting adults restrictions? Other restrictions? What are they now?

It's not the current topic of discussion, or at least it wasn't.

Your assessment of "this generation" and the next certainly has something to do with that.

Preventing people from marrying because they are both men is unconstitutional.
Preventing people from marrying because they can't consent is Constitutional.
Preventing people from marrying because they are related is Constitutional.
The first of the three violates the 14th amendment's equal treatment & due process portion, and the others do not.
Now you know.

They don't have the right to marry children.
If you don't see a line between two adult men marrying and an adult man marrying an 8 year old child, you're more fricked in the head than any transgender could ever be.

AH, so it's not an unalienable human right to marry. We just redefined marriage.

Are you planning to take your son to see this film? Maybe you're more progressive than you thought.
