Yeah, I'm actually interested in seeing what kind of high low, big to big action Gentry can set up. If what MM said about the limits on the last coaching search are still in place, I don't see how there's any harm in giving Demps/Gentry one more year. If it works great, if it doesn't fire them both and bring in Cal or JVG. My preference is JVG but that'd have to get the thumbs up from AD/DC who I'm sure Cal would be lobbying hard.

I'm not totally against it if step 2 in my main post is handily addressed and they had multiple shooters and useful players.
But I'm pretty sure its just wasting time.

Can't see Boogie wanting to stay with the Pels if his 1.5 seasons here suck arse. I think you just go ahead and pull the trigger. JVG was my choice when we hired Gentry. He'll be my choice when we fire Gentry.
