Just think the money would be better spent by trading for a rotation guy (Stephenson or Clarkson) & an early 1st Rd pick, then drafting a starting PG early in the 1st (Ball, Smith, Fultz or Fox)
Jrue is a young two way player that can play on and off the ball. He also is not lockerroom concern.
We have two absolute superstars and a guy who is young and been an all-star. He is averaging 21/8/6 the last ten games getting 36+ minutes.

I think Jrue (being from & living in LA) might resign w LA.
Minnesota was rumored to be going after Derrick Rose. Thought they might want a PG. Didn't realize Rubio had a shitty contract. I think the Pels assuming Jrue will resign is a mistake, and getting a lottery pick for him would be great.

But will he resign here.

It's not that I don't like Jrue, I just think we've lost a lot of games here. He can sign wherever he wants this offseason & even though we can offer him more money than anyone else I just don't think he'll resign here. I think he'll stay closer to home.
If I knew he was going to resign in the offseason I wouldn't want to trade him.

Well I assume the Pels front office have a better idea of his intentions than a fan. They also just realeased a "Benson" statement indicating Holiday as a core leader of the team and future.
I find it hard to believe he is walking away from the Pels new front court, an organization who has treated him by all accounts respectfully and as a star, and most likely top money. If they came to him with a trash offer then yes I could see him feeling disrespected.
If I am the Pels it is the easiest deal ever made because I am going to max out Holiday, Davis, and Cousins to the best of my ability. The Pels will never have more star talent than those three guys imo unless they just got super lucky and drafted a Leonard/butler late in the draft. So lock up those guys and fill in with role players.

do better, shitbird. I'm chilling, filling out an SS4 for a 98 EIN (don't worry about it) If my post is as stupid as you & your mouth breathing slimy-cock trolls say it is, make a simple post stating facts and go on about your business.

His cap hold is just $16.9 million. You aren't going to sign a comparable PG for that amount, any PG you get for that amount or lower will be a down grade. Do you think cheaping out and signing Darren Collison will improve the team or starting no defense Tim Frazier?
Most people that have wanted to trade Holiday this season have been thinking 2 things. Trading Holiday for a pick and tanking, which clearly isn't an option any more. Or people wanted to avoid over paying him and taking up too much cap space to acquire a 2nd star. Well we have our 2nd star now so there's not as much need to preserve the cap space.
I also think we probably shouldn't even be aiming to have cap space. Let's say you dump Ajinca and Pondexter, stretch Asik and let Holiday walk. I'm doing this from memory, but that would be in the low $30s in cap space. Sign Galinarri for 20-25 and use the rest to absorb Rubio in a trade. You've replaced Holiday (with a downgrade) and added a scoring wing.
OR
Keep Holiday, trade Ajinca/Pondexter/Frazier and your 2018 pick for someone like Fournier AND still have your $8.4 million MLE to spend on a good back up PG or Big. Say keep DMo or maybe add Shaun Livingston.
So Rubio + Galinarri vs Holiday + Fournier + Livingston

We can offer him the most money and now he has 2 top 10 players just entering their primes on the roster with him. There is literally no team that can offer him a better combination of money and talent.

Well I can only give you my trade thoughts. Sorry I'm just a fan. If I were in the FO, and he told me he was staying, then again, I wouldn't want to trade him. Yes I would, because I still don't trust his leg, but whatever.
You say we'll never be this talented, But the 4 guards I named earlier all have potential to be better than Jrue. And we would get a role player as part of either trade. And we would save a few bucks to go get another role player.
But I get it, we love Holiday. He's been one of the only not dark spots in the past few years of Pelicans basketball.

Not to mention, there is no other team that stood by his side and gave him the time and space when he needed it the most

I'd like to think that means something but being closer to his family at all times might mean more & I wouldn't even blame him for it.

Any way to get McCollum....to the pels?

The same way as when it was brought up several weeks back. If and only if Portland targeted Holiday as the primary return they wanted in a trade. But I doubt Portland pulls a Vivek.
