If the protestors are non-violent and don't impede the movement of people or threaten them when they attempt to drive through the crowd, they have nothing to worry about.

No we want to run over people who are actively trying to get in our way. You're ignoring the fact that protesters can simply get off the street if they don't want to be hit. Nobody is advocating for driving up on sidewalks to run over SJWs....yet.
