Why are we still talking about Tiger?

Idk, why are you?

We are here because he's still the same Tiger that brought golf to the mainstream. Not a tough concept to grasp.

He may win another tournament one day but I think we're done seeing him win majors

That is Tiger, yet people love him. Weird.

He's no fool. He's resting up for the Masters. You know that is where he wants to play and people want to see him there.

Tiger not playing Genesis Open or Honda classic by TT9

To be honest I just don't think he wants to embarrass himself at these two events.... His back is NOT as bad as he says.. He just knows its getting closer to the end.....

What an incredibly stupid and arrogant decision to fly to Dubai to try and play 4 times in a 5 week span.

Riding in a coach seat for that long of a flight was definitely ill-advised....

Watching some golf today and noticed Fred Couples. In his day, he hit just about as long as Tiger and has suffered with back issues for 25+ years....He is maybe 55 and still going with that languid, smooth, effortless swing. You just apparently can't go after it like Tiger has...

As far as his bringing golf to the "mainstream"...please define mainstream. General population...no. Rednecks, no. Minorities???

People who don't watch golf were watching Tiger Woods. Pretty simple actually.

No great man ever failed for lack of talent, but for lack of character.

My favorite part about these threads are the "why is this news?" and "who cares?" guys.. as they post on page 1 about a thread of a supposedly irrelevant golfer.

Tiger matters a LOT. Because of money. When he plays (no matter how badly) viewership goes up and revenue goes up. Why? Because 1/2 of the people want him to make a miracle comeback and 1/2 of the people want to see him fall flat on his face. When he doesn't draw an audience he will go away.
