Obviously but I am talking about the other charges...without this, honestly he could of gotten off free and clear and this is after talking with people close to it both the prosecutors and defense

A lot more will stick than you think. There are more people lawyering up against this guy daily. I too have talked with a lot close to the situation

Again from a pure law perspective....I can promise whatever does go to trial will not end well for him when there are 30 families all crying on the witness stand and not one house has been completed with the clients that haven't left....but again from a pure law standpoint, he could of gotten off

Baton Rouge Police Dept also has a warrant out for him.

do we know if he's truly on the lam or just hiding out with his lawyers while they negotiate?
because if he's really at the Miami airport with a fake mustache and wig that would be hilarious

He was released after posting on a $635,000 bond.
That's some serious scratch to run off on

Yea they can't find him. He's been a flight risk since the beginning.

Bail was set at $635k. I am going to guess he got out on a property bond. If so, does this mean the bondsman just got a sweet house?
If HE built it? Probably not.

Ppl may get out of their contracts and have Leins lifted but what about victims the are owed money for work not performed? Would they get that back? I doubt it. Or what if ppl' mortgage company are the ones who gave them their money, even after inspections, do they carry any burden?

classic robbing Peter to pay Paul behavior by a contractor in trouble, assuming he was a legitimate contractor at some point. there would never be financial restitution to the victims regardless of what he is convicted of, as the money is likely gone
again, this assumes there was some other reason he resorted to naked fraud and extortion other than he just decided to be a criminal. I believe the man has a young family. gotta be some trouble he was in that forced his hand
as a contractor I can tell you that if you get upside down on something it is impossible to turn it around without dumb luck or creative accounting. you take your lumps, finish the job (ie fulfill your contract) and move on

Matt did not build this house. Bondsman is set.

I bet Matt has an account here. I hope he's reading this. Would be awesome if he jumped in the convo

People may be 'lawyering up' but that should all be over civil matters, which it sounds to me that 99% of all his charges should be anyway.
Posted on 2/18/17 at 9:20 pm to SuperSaint
But again, whatever "minor" charges he had are now pointless. he proved his own guilt by fleeing and just dig a bigger hole for himself. He's done, it's over

He was probably financially so far in over his head he wound up robbing one customer to maintain his lifestyle or pay labor to complete another project. I don't believe he had good intentions either way. The little interaction I had with him, he always came across as a pompous arse.
