This sounds more plausible than the state coming in and taking the kids for a simple misunderstanding (especially when she had the paperwork to back it up).

Doesn't seem to be. The above post is, according to court docs, what happened. Somebody dropped the ball. Then CPS decided to dig to find anything they could to get the kids.

Nope! Kids wouldn't be in foster care if another parent was involved. They would be with their father.
