I know he's a hack. Just heard him on the radio. You should've heard the way he was pronouncing the names of some of these schools. It was cringe worthy. You'd think that if he's been in contact with coaches from the schools he would at least know how to pronounce their names.

There's a few possibilities here. Someone fed him this BS to get word out that NOLA coaches were unhappy with Coach O. I hope that's the case and he was simply played because the other possibility is that he read the tea leaves and cooked up a story.

If he did cook this story then he just toasted himself in this state.

I think we can all agree that the way this was allowed to play out in the media and on this board was complete and utter bullshite!

Even if everything is true and these coaches grievances are legit there is no way that you air this dirty laundry out like this. I guarantee you one way or the other a bridge has been burned here.....and it may turn out to be not good for anybody.

I'm curious how you mean "toasted" himself? I mean, at most I would expect sources would stop giving him information. But since it seems pretty clear he needs neither sources nor information to write stories, I don't see how that actually affects him negatively. As long as his "stories" keep getting posted and mentioned on websites (like this one) thousands of times, he will remain a relevant and successful member of the media.

Credibility is not the currency of "journalists" anymore. Page views, retweets, clicks, and hashtag trendings are. As long as people talk about whatever he writes, he will continue to write it and people will continue to pay him to write it.

And yes, I do realize the apparent contradiction of adding to the discussion of him by discouraging discussion of him. But I did not click on his story link and I have avoided mentioning his name so as to avoid increasing his web-reference scores.
