I don't feel like jumping on bc as a 16 yr transplant I am one of those Saints fans who like the Falcons when they don't play the Saints.

But these ATL sports radio guys can be in their feelings all day! All week long instead of talking about New England, try kept talking about the Saints and how a win would make them historically better than Brees & the Saints.

So no salt for the fans, but salt all year long for the radio guys!

Spurs up 5 vs. Miami with 28.5 seconds to go in game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals has to be up there.

This is a good example too, but like with the Warriors blowing it vs the Cavs, Seahakws choking vs Pats, Yankees vs Red Sox in 04 etc. All of those teams had won a championship recently. The Falcons empty trophy case and years of heartbreak really puts this one over the top

Oh yeah for sure. The fact that SA went on to win in a rematch the very next year put some salve on that wound in a hurry.

Can't imagine what ATL is going through right now. Dark, dark morning.

This loss has been very painful to a lot of people:

Falcons fans
Trump haters
Fans of any other QB besides Brady

I'm looking out my office window right now and the weather matches our mood.

Painful for sure but the future is bright. Glad to have been there and I think DQ is on the right track and will learn from the mistakes that were made.

I think that even though Atlanta has a lot of talent this is going to mess with them next season. We see it basically ever year. Team loses Super Bowl, especially like this, and they'll take steps back.

I think last night was worse

Easily, compared to 21-0.

Relative to LSU, last night was closer to the 2012 Bama game, since it looked for a minute like we would actually win that one. But last night is still in another stratosphere

Ehh any team can get over the hump.

Winning a super bowl doesn't mean your team will do it easily again just like losing won't mean it is even more difficult. That is more of the lore that fans like to believe in than anything.

Game 6 in the '86 series was pretty gut wrenching, they had put Congratulations Red Sox World Series champs on the scoreboard

Most Falcons fans did that on this board during the 3rd through mid 4th quarters

As did most Patriot fans. There was probably 3 full pages of posts in the game thread congratulating the Falcons.

Not saying it for sure will happen, but it has been a trend for a while

Losing the O coordinator and losing the big game like this...I personally think they are going to take a step back next year.

1/9/12 was awful but had basically the entire game to come to terms with that failure.

this. the 2nd half you just kinda gradually accepted it.

the way the Falcons lost was just excruciating. and I'm not even a fan, though I was going for them last night.

I still think I'd be more upset by the Seattle derp. This was kind of a slow motion trainwreck and you probably knew as a birds fan that you had no chance in OT. The quick reversal of fortune with the Butler pick would make me put my fist through the TV.

For sure, 1/9 effected me more mainly cause I was on New Years to national title bender that came crashing down. I reconsidered how sport effected my mood on that long shitty drive back to Baton Rouge that Tuesday.

That 2012 was a punch in the nuts but I was still numb. Having said that, I have no idea how bama won that game after the JC Copeland catch and run. Crowd was on fire

Bunk it is off topic, but Droopy Dog won his Singles match I saw. I was for certain he would find a way to choke that away.
