Sorry, but that's Freeman's man. Even if it wasn't originally, if you're the back and you see a LB rushing the QB past the line of scrimmage you pick it up unless it's a screen play specifically called for you.

It probably was Freeman's man but we don't know for sure. Your reasoning isn't solid. Blocking protections are much different than simply grabbing backers sometimes.
