Dwight's music was part of the soundtrack of my parent's divorce. Kind of strange that I like him so much.

We love Dwight Yoakam. And I really like his new bluegrass album.

There is Cash & Yoakam, then there is the rest.

I always saw Dwight as the Tom Petty of country music, which is to say that he's great.

Looking forward to seeing him at margaritaville in April. Hope he plays a bunch of his new bluegrass stuff.
I've got tickets as well.
Never have been a big country fan, but have always liked Dwight. Just a fan of his 'all in' attitude. Definitely was sold out to his art before country was cool.
He's definitely been under-appreciated by Nashville, and that's a shame. He got lots of people in the 80's and 90's listening to country music. Just because it's the Bakersfield genre, he's still helped Nashville sell albums.
The list of his awards are pretty slim considering how much impact he's had on county music. The ACM ought to be ashamed.

His version of Close Down the Honkeytonks is awesome. Also Blame the Vain is a badass tune

I love me some Dwight, he's got some seriously great under-rated songs
If There Was a Way (acoustic version is country the way it should be, almost haunting in a way)
Buenos Noches from a Lonely Room
Two Doors Down

Been a fan ever since he arrived on the scene in the mid 80's. As mentioned about his covers....this is probably my favorite.

frickin' A Right, he did. Too many awesome quotes to list.
He was also damn funny in the small role in Wedding Crashers.
But ... it'll always be Sling Blade for me.
