I'm taking a huge risk by hosting a Superbowl watch party (using DTV Now). We're about to see how that goes... the ultimate test

Should be OTA:

Sunday Feb. 5
New England vs. Atlanta at NRG Stadium in Houston, 6:30 p.m. ET (Fox): The final game of the NFL season should provide us with some fireworks as we'll be getting the NFC's high-scoring team in Atlanta (33.8 points per game), going up against the AFC's highest-scoring team in New England (27.6). This will be Patriots' ninth Super Bowl appearance, which will break that all-time record they had previously held with the Cowboys, Broncos and Steelers. As for the Falcons, they're slightly newer to this whole Super Bowl thing. The game against New England will mark just the second time in franchise history that the Falcons' have reached the Super Bowl (lost in 1998

No. You're being an idiot. I would NOT go into that thinking it'll end well.

You need to make sure you're in range of a tower to get OTA with quality picture.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I didn't think that Fox was on Directv Now? I see Fox sports 1 and others, but not just Fox.

I went through the guide for Sunday, and didn't see anything showing the game. Just postgame stuff on Fox Sports1.

So just how do you plan on streaming this game, when the channel isn't available?
I hope you have a backup plan, or this may be your last party.

There will be a lot of pissed off folks if you gather them to your place and they can't watch it. Knowing that and going through with this plan is idiotic. It is what it is, man.

I just have to come back and say that DTV Now worked flawlessly with about 5 different people all running their phones on my Wi-Fi. No buffering, no lag, etc.

So yeah, turns out I'm not a dumbass.

You get local Fox through DTVN service?

I'm not sure if Fox Sports Go was streaming the game for free yesterday. I went to the app and put in my login info for DTVN, and it accepted it. I went to the Fox app and streamed the whole game. I did have a few moments of lag, but nothing major.

Yeah, FOX is offered in Dallas. There were actually 2 separate FOX channels so if one messed up, I'd switch over.

But I know Firestick users hate seeing this.

Yeh the DTV Now service has drastically improved over the last week. They're slowly working out the bugs.

But is it at the cost of picture quality and fps?

Mine has been fine for the most part. I noticed a small amount of jumping while watching EPL this weekend but it cleared up quickly.

I want to know when they are planning on allowing users to sign into Fox sports Go or NBC Live Extra. That's my only gripe.

YES

They currently are still streaming everything in 30fps instead of 60fps from initial roll out.
This is slowly starting to aggravate me more and more as I never had an issue till they went to jacking with shite for one reason or another.

Looked pretty damn good at my place on PSVue. I have OTA also, and switched back and forth a few times. Settled on the OTA signal, but it was really hard to tell the difference.
