Most of his 80's stuff is pretty bad, though I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues is one of my favorites of his.
I'm Still Standing and Island Girl and Crocodile Rock are the 3 that come to mind immediately as my least favorite.
Honky Cat and My Father's Gun are my 2 favorites.

Either "I Don't Want to Go On With You Like That" or "I'm Still Standing".
"Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" is my favorite.

I'm Still Standing is awful.
Favorite: Where To Now St. Peter? closely followed by Madman Across the Water and Grey Seal.

This ^^^
The box set that was put out in 1990 (...To Be Continued) is really the only recording of Elton John anyone needs. To me everything after it sucks. A lot of the 80's on it is pretty bad, but there are some gems such as, 'Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)' which is a song written after John Lennon was murdered.
Discs 1-2 should be required listening for any true music fan.

Elton John has an interesting career.
His beginning run of 70-75 is one of the greatest of all time.
Then cocaine took over and he wrote a ton of crap from the late 70s through the 80s but he has some hidden gems in there.
Then he got clean, had vocal surgery, and went back to his roots in the 90s and 2000s and wrote better music.
My answer is Jamaica Jerk-Off

No doubt this is all his classic stuff. But as another poster said, in the 90's-2000's he's put out some decent stuff (after he was off the coke). The album with Leon Russell (The Union) is great. "The One" has some classic-sounding Elton songs.
But to me the underrated album of his career is "The Captain and the Kid", written with Bernie Taupin and released in 2006. It's like a blast back to the 70's. Check out these songs from that album (first has Justin Timberlake playing a young Elton in the video)

I like most of Elton John's songs, regardless of how quirky they are, like Bennie and the Jets and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
But, we have to draw the line with "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" from Lion King. That song is annoying to the max.

Another vote for Bennie
Anyone mention Bad Blood with Sedaka?

Bad Blood is pure Sedaka. Elton John just furnishes a few background shouts, but it's not his song

i really don't care for much of his stuff after Too Low For Zero.

Surprised no one mentioned The Bitch is Back.
Just heard it on XM7 and turned it off right away!! This might be the worse!!

Bennie And The Jets is probably my favorite Elton John song. Those piano chords and the modulation of his voice have always killed me.
I agree that Island Girl and Philadelphia Freedom just plain suck.
Someone Saved My Life Tonight is a little bit overwrought to put it mildly.
Daniel is just so treacly.
The Bitch Is Back is like an icepick through the ear.
