Most evangelicals come from a Baptist/Non-denom background. They're pretty far from traditional high Protestants.
Luther and Calvin would see the evangelical movement as far more heretical than the church they split from. It doesn't resemble reformation theology at all.

I think they'd be pretty disgusted at the state of affairs within their own churches, too.
I like to be nice and just say heterodox.

You do know Piper follows Calvinist teaching heavily? He's the leader of that type of theology in today's church.
