Sherwood Forest 80s/Early 90s Nostalgia Thread - What Do You Remember?

Broadmoor Dollar Theater
Flea Market behind the theater
Poncho's Mexican Buffet
Podnuh's BBQ
Audubon Elementary School (when BR still had the GT program)
Cortana Mall
Celebration Station
Winn Dixie near Old Hammond Road
Mary Lee's Donuts (I remember this was the only place that had power after Andrew in 92)
K&B Drugs near Florida
Sporting goods store in the Sherwood South Shopping Center (what was the name?)
I also remember some very dark years of LSU Football (when I was a kid, my daily hat had Mike Archer's signature under the bill..)
What are some other staples of this once-great slice of the American dream?
What will it take to re-gentrify Sherwood, and return it to its 70s/80s glory?
Or is it too far gone?

Sports Unlimited, I believe. Then Jumbo Sports which was the beginning of the end. I miss the old real sporting goods stores, where the employees actually knew about what they were selling and you could buy products that were from middle of the line up instead of the Walmart-ish stores we get these days.
I remember the 2 apartment complexes at I-12 and Sherwood (Forestwood and Willow Bend Lake) being nice places to live and the pools during warm weather being a REAL nice spot to hang out. Then, the trash moved in...
Mike's Grill (bar) back where Oak Lodge is now. I can't remember what it was called before Mike's.

Mom used to take us to K&B next door in the same building to pick out candy to sneak in her purse to Broadmoor theater.
