Tourney Season is upon us. Let's hear the reports from Toledo Bend
The lake will be on fire this weekend with this extreme weather change. Target isolated trees, 3-6 ft deep, pre spawn bass like to make nests in the root systems of cypress trees

What methods and techniques do you recommend for pre spawn?

I'm looking forward to getting out on the lake this year also. I didn't get to make one trip up there last year.

Bossier I'm wanting to set up a guided trip for March. Are you all booked up already?

Let's link up and check schedules. This season will be tough but I should be able to work you in.

From now until March I usually am throwing either a squarebill crankbait, a spinnerbait, or a lipless crank. I'm usually fishing in 6 feet of water or less. I like to target stumps in flats, or the edges of a creek that runs through a flat. This is the time to catch a monster!

PPP (pump pump pause) is my go to prespawn method, key is to let fish take it and shake it before you pull the trigger. I can't stress this enough to the fisherman I coach... if you pull the wool don't pinch the clinch.

I went to my camp last weekend.
Felt bad and once I got there stayed in my recliner, watched tv, and had the fire place going.
Just did not want to get out in the weather to fish.
I man go back this weekend.

I'll be there Friday evening through Sunday morning. Hopefully the weather acts right.

Yep. I've caught some of my biggest females Jan to early March even though we aren't catching many fish. Once you start catching numbers and a lot of buck bass that late winter pattern is done.

I'm talking about a bait and pattern, which by your chart proves my point. I'm obviously not saying big fish aren't caught during the spawn.

I made no comment. I just thought the data was related.

I'd like to see the Jan-Feb ones caught and bait of choice.
Do you have a link to that chart?

Is this Bossier guy even for real? What a crock. and yes Late Feb. and March is the month on the bend...no doubt about it. If weather stays this mild like last year in 2 weeks the 10+ fish will start to fall in late Jan.
