Have you stopped watching / following a sport? If so, why?

Many times people get angry and say "I'm boycotting this team" or "I'm never watching xyz sport again", and we assume people don't really mean it.
Have you actually followed through with it?
For me:
MLB - the combination of the last strike, PED scandal with McGuire, Sosa, Bonds, and others; diluted pitching and too many pitching changes in late innings have all served to lessen my viewing over the years. Last season I watched about half the world series and that was it.
NFL - This season with Kap and others, ended it for me. I have watched less than 2 minutes of the NFL this year. Just won't spend time on people that fail to advance a solid case on what they think is wrong and how they believe it can be addressed. They are pouting not protesting.

NBA. No interest whatsoever in the regular season. Don't watch games. Will watch the later postseason rounds, though.
Why? Idk. It has become boring to me. Not enough real title contenders. And yeah, the NBA has always been like that. But maybe not to this extent. Cavs/Warriors is basically the inevitable Finals matchup. And that makes it hard for me to care about an 82-game schedule.
I shite on the NFL a lot, but I still watch games.

MLB, I just don't find it interesting.
I will stop following any major sport that puts ads on jerseys

I find more and more I only watch college fb if an sec team is involved. Used to have more interest in general. Now I don't care, unless Sark after dark or I am attending UT (the Texas one) games

I gave up on the NBA years ago when ESPN started cramming it down our throats. Was really good product when NBC had rights. Marc Albert and Mike Fratello calling Bulls/Knicks, Bulls/Pistons, Pacers/Knicks was as good as it got. Bob Costas and Pat Riley in the NBC studio. Then Julius Erving and Peter Vescey replaced Riley. NBC was willing to show multiple games at the same time. So the whole country wasn't stuck with one game.
That awesome NBC intro music was downright beautiful and very catchy. Teams like the Suns and Magic wore badass alternate uniforms with creative logos, and boring script was less prominent. NBA Inside Stuff on Saturday mornings at 10:00 with Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders was quality TV.
Game has become soft as hell. Very few or no rivalries. Players ignore mid range game. Offenses are just half court oriented. Players sitting out games and bitch about not getting enough rest, despite that never being a problem in the '80s and '90s. And now selling hideous ads on uniforms. So frick the NBA. Don't miss it at all.

I follow the NBA as much as I have in the past (box scores), but I'm watching much less, pretty much only bits and pieces of games. I just don't have the attention span I used to and the lack of parity this year makes it hard for me to get into most games. I even fell asleep during Cavs Warriors on Christmas. I'll watch the playoffs, but not 3 games start to finish like I have in years past for sure. It's the same way with sports in general. Damn smart phone has put my attention span six feet under.

MLB
It was fun when I was a kid playing little league. It sucks to watch on TV so I stopped following it. I am a season ticket holder at a minor league team though. Actually going to the game is so much more enjoyable than watching it on TV

MLB and NBA regulars seasons. Both are way too long and 95% of the games are meaningless. It doesn't take 162 games to figure out the 10 best teams. Plus the Brewers and Bucks suck arse

Great topic.
MLB for me, my favorite sport by far as a kid to watch and play. Will Clark (especially while on the giants) was my favorite player. I'd always watched and loved the NBA, and discovered football around 1994. Once Clark left the giants and I started following football my interest in baseball subsided a little bit.
The Sosa and Big Mac chase got me back into it, but soon after my interest died down again. When I started sports betting in the mid 2000s I got back into baseball for a couple seasons, but pretty much lost interest in MLB and college basketball around the same time when I left college and joined the workforce.
I've seen gotten back into college basketball a few seasons ago, but I doubt I'll follow baseball ever again.

I've pretty much stopped watching all sports aside from the Saints. Reading the MSB is more than enough for me
Some people as they get older get more interested -- others less so. I'm in the latter category.
Hard even for me to believe I was once a big baseball fan, rushing home from school to watch Harry Caray and the Cubs.
One reason for my decreased interest is the increased thuggery of sports. I try to avoid this demo in movies and music; I don't need bread and circuses so much that I will put up with them in sports.

Was a huge MLB fan until the strike in the 90's completely quit watching.
I watched the NBA during Jordan and Kobe's peaks. Too young for some of the other guys like Bird and such....and I just don't really enjoy the brand of basketball that is being played now.
I really wanted to like Kevin Durant as much as Kobe. It just never happened. Let the downvotes commence.

was a huge nascar fan growing up, I was a gear head the whole nine yards
Watching Dale get bounced around a track, rip the whole front end of his wrangler Chevrolet off and go on to tin the race was just thrilling. Now??? my god it's horrible to watch
same with football. Love CFB, NFL is complete garbage and everyone knows why

MLB - regular season just too fricking long to give a shite about.
NBA - see above plus not the same since they have pussified the game.
NFL - would rather watch paint dry than watch most games that are on TV.
