Can you give an example of a hot coaching candidate whose stock stayed relatively high after taking a step back in the MAC? The only one I can think of is maybe Turner Gill and he ended up at Kansas.

Fleck would have to beat USC or even MSU to keep his stock up. Or at least win the MAC again.

Very few MAC coached have jumped straight to P5, and none of them had the publicity and hype at their MAC school that Fleck has had. As long as he wins he will stay hot. Jumping into a lower end B1G job can kill your career with the quickness
