FWIW, there is no federal law (that I have found yet) preventing the shipment of a firearm to a private address (non-FFL) within the same state. From everything I've read, you could technically list a gun online, sell it to a buyer that resides in the same state, and then ship it to them.

From ATF.gov:
quote:

A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm or ammunition, prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm and requires obtaining written acknowledgement of receipt.

If you could link something contradicting that please do. I could've missed it.

Bump for response.

Looked into it more and it seems it IS legal. Nothing prohibits you from making an in state private sale online, then shipping the firearm.

Effectively buying a gun online and having it shipped to your door w/o a background check.

No loophole when spelled out in the law. Don't know why that is so hard for you to get.
