Aranda wanted a complete game

From his defense, and he definitely got it; this is a telling stat from the courier journal "It was the Cardinals’ first game without a touchdown since a 20-3 loss to Pitt in 2010, and in fact, it was the first time a college team coached by Petrino hadn’t scored a touchdown in his 152 games, according to U of L fan and volunteer statistician Kelly Dickey."

Two things happened yesterday...
1.) LSU defense played spectacular
2.) UL offense played like absolute crap
It was great to see it happen to someone else for once.

We were on point yesterday and they played very sloppy.

from a general defensive perspective your to priorities are usually:
1) don't let their best player hurt you
2) don't let them establish the run, especially where they are on schedule with the chains
3) no big plays
with the exception of one big play, that cost 3 pts not a TD, check-check-check. That best player happened to be a Heisman winner who makes their run game go. He's worth $2MM, and that game will make him even more down the road.

UL offense was intimidated by the LSU Defense. After the first quarter they were playing scared. Passes way off mark, receivers dropping sure catches, taking sacks, etc.

Aranda is intense- bright coaching future! That A&M game bugged him- he was committed to making up for it. While he does not have the fireball coaching style of Saban, his desire to exceed is right up there with him.

He got it, start to finish. As impressive a defensive effort from LSU as i may have ever witnessed considering the offense they were playing. The Tigers were relentless and dominant for 60 minutes.
 4 qtrs

By watching literally thousands of college football games and knowing quite a bit about shite offenses by being an LSU fan.

Is this true? Petrino has never been shut out? Ever?

Didn't say shut out, said failed to score a TD.

I like to think our defense made them play like crap!

Number 1 had a lot to do with number 2.

The secondary might have played their best game of the year. UL's biggest mistake there was trying to go to their best receiver. The problem with that was that he was put on lock down by DBU's best CB... T White! The rest of the secondary played at an elite level which was highlighted IMO by Jamal running Jackson down on one particular play like Lamar was just another stat to him as opposed to this year's Heisman winner.
The front seven barely missed a beat without Beckwith, one of the best ILB's in the nation. This is what surprised me the most. Those guys were effective even without blitzing. Although this can be attributed to poor UL OL play, they still kept Jackson corralled with great LB play from White and Alexander among other.
Aranda beat one of the most accomplished offensive minds in CFB and that is why he is the man. He switched things up beautifully all game long. He definitely had something to prove after the A+M game.
