It's not a drop off it's a cliff. With that being said it's not often you have two first round picks sharing the load. However, we go from two first round picks to possibly an undrafted backfield.

Do you even know who the RB is for Clemson?
He was a 5* recruit. His OL hasn't given him much help.

I am so spoiled after Fournette and Guice. I can't go back to watching average backs. We need to get the next great one ASAP.
We had a pretty good one right before those two.

If Etienne signs he will get the second string carries next season. He's much more explosive than any backup we have now. He's can also catch balls out of the backfield and is a homerun threat. It's nice having CEH. He is a special player, but he isn't the every down back that Etienne is.
I am with you. I expect Brosette and Etienne to fight it out for 2nd string. Williams was running third because he was a power option behind LF and Guice that they could bring in for short yardage. However, he is NOT cut out to be a 2nd back at his current weight and speed. He was lead-footed to the hole yesterday.
Don't sleep on CEH. We are used to Miles' preference for power or balanced backs over speed guys, but Canada will use multiple backs and loves jet sweeps to the outside. He won't be wasted here with this staff. I'm not saying he will get a ton of carries next season, but I would expect him and maybe Dontae Jackson to have a few designed plays to take advantage of their speed, even if just as decoys.

Pretty telling that Brossette isn't even getting any clean up time.
I was telling my dad that during the game- why wasn't he getting some carries??

We will see in Spring. If he doesn't move up the depth chart, we'll have a pretty good idea that there's a reason other than injury recovery holding him back.

Ya think? Guice is a beast.

Agree here, our team in 2011 have 3 GOOD running backs but no one elite like Guice. if Guice goes down, it would be a big blow, but not a championship type of blow.

People need to let go of the Les Miles era, especially the last 4 years. With more balance in the pass game and more people touching the ball in the run game (a Canada trait), we won't HAVE to depend on a superstar back to do it all for us.
Don't get me wrong. A superstar like Guice always helps, but we will be able to win the kinds of backs we used to win with if we have balance.

Yay! Now all we need to find is a Deshaun Watson clone.

I think some on here are sleeping on Nick Brossette. All he has been doing is waiting his turn behind two of the best running backs we've probably had at the same time ever. That and he's been getting healthy. I believe they give the ball to Williams more because he's a year older and did not act like a sissy and transfer out. Frank Wilson recruited Brossette and he knows a good back when he sees one. Brossette was ranked #181 in the country regardless of position according to 247. 16th best RB in the country. The guy touched the ball 15 times this year for 145 yards. That's a 9.7 average. Is there a drop off after Fournette and Guice. Of course. Is the drop off over the cliff? No. Brossette will be our #2 next year and Williams will probably get some carries because he will be a senior. CEO would have probably played Brossette some had several other teams not been up by 21 and lost their bowl games. LSU will be alright at the RB position. We need more studs on the OL and LB position but RB is not concerning me at this point.

I completely agree with this. Canada's offense will turn a non-guice talent into a good back by calling plays that accentuate their strengths. Would have loved to see what Canada would have done with LF7.
