That's how close we were to President Clinton. Your confusion is irrelevant.
Thank God it wasn't 666 or 66,600.
Libtards would be screaming that's proof Trump is the Devil.

"Most of the globe encircling has been done by the Western Powers led by the U.S.". Please provide the name of the country that the U.S. recently encircled & took over, physically or politically? Too, those "hardcore Islamic terrorists": who exactly are they screaming loud & clear that they want to kill in the name of Allah? Just those in very specific geographic locations? Like Belgium. France. Germany. England. America, Greece, just to name a few specific locations outside the Middle East.

think Trump is going to face way more opposition from a supposedly friendly Congress than is being assumed.
I think initially this will be true - but, in many ways like Reagan did with his direct appeals to the people via television, Trump will use his social media acumen the way he did during the campaign and, after all, he's no coward and Congress is FILLED with them, on both sides of the aisle.

Trump's victory was very narrow
300+ votes in the EC is narrow? (ETA: Meaning 304 - 227).

some landslide mandate
I've been careful not to use the "l" word to describe it, but it is a comfortable win in a competitive election. This was not the nailbiter that folks in the media would love it to be portrayed - Trump won every state that was winnable by a Republican in 2016. If that's not a mandate, it will do until a mandate comes along.

The election is decided by EC votes and only EC votes. She was soundly defeated .

Welcome back Scrub. And Happy New Year. I know it feels good to be back. Best place on the Globe to talk politics, religion and sociology.
IMO, our biggest issue is National unity. With that, we are a powerful Group. Not that the mostly immigrant populations in NY/LA are going to ever run the show; especially if they are on board with Open Border policy. Nationalism is on the rise, as we witness increasing disaster in Europe. National Socialism is the Dems only hope for power. Kiss Globalism good bye...as Obama's Israel blunder will likely be the impetus for kicking the UN out of NY. Trump will use that wasted money for 'the wall'.
Re "Trump's victory was very narrow"...won't matter. He'll get 8 years, stack the Court and implement Voting verification with Immigration reform. And win over a lot of Blacks by making their Communities relatively safe, infrastructure spending and offering School Choice.
The Dems have a ton of seats up for grabs in '18; Trump's Twitterbombs will put the fear in them and any rogue Republicans big time; and with Michael Moore squeezing for challenging weak Dems in the Primary...it'll be another bloodletting for Dems.
Kick back, enjoy...and behave yourself.

Winning states. Aggregates of the so-called "national popular vote" are irrelevant, though.
Like the moral "victory" of outgaining an opponent in rushing yards, 265 to 90, but losing because you have no pass defense and turned over the ball 3 times. If it makes you feel better to feel good about your rushing offense and defense, then do so quietly in the loser's locker room.

And how many more electors would he have won if he's rung up 1 million more votes in those states?

BS! That muslim sympathizer that's been stinking up the White House is notorious for "skirting" the law of the land. I see no reason President Trump can't "skirt" the law of the land himself. obammy set the bar pretty low. To hell with islam and anything defending that radical garbage!

Sorry you are unable to discern that I was actually attempting to help your very poorly constructed argument. There is not issue with Islam as an expression of faith. There are tremendous issues with militant Islam as a means of spreading terror.
Posted on 12/27/16 at 8:30 pm to MrCarton
I love you to death brother. And I respect your opinion above most on this board, particularly on this subject. But militant Islam as a means to spread dissatisfaction along many lines of effort. It is cancerous in it's effect. Similar to Progressivism, it ccnstantly finds fault with the (for lack of a better term) status quo. It is destructive in nature. Where you and I agree is that we are permitting ourselves to be drawn into these inconsequential fights that prevent us from focusing on the defense of our Nation. We are being bled dry over these battles that have little to nothing to do with our vital National interests, but everything to do with (tinfoil hat on) the MIC and ME economics/politics. Like any spoiled child, we are giving these terrorists more attention than they deserve. They have no means to truly harm our country. They are not a near peer. They are a nuisance that we give too much attention to.
And we had a great Christmas. Both of my children came in from college. I could not have asked for a better present.

More than if he had received 77,745 less votes.

You're hung up on a mere technicality - it does not matter his margin of victory in the states needed to secure victory in the EC, just as HRC's vote padding in California and New York are irrelevant, once she was at 50%+1 for both of those states.
Let's put it this way - if candidate A wins by less than 1% in 48 states, and candidate B wins NY and California 67% to 33% - candidate A, quite frankly, has whipped candidate B's arse, quite handily - like LBJ vs. Goldwater or Denali vs. Mondale - the raw popular vote totals - in the aggregate, or cherry picking to see how many votes in what districts would have swayed it this way or that is academic navel-gazing - at best, and attempts to subvert a constitutionally installed President's authority at worst.
So, 77,745 - Trump got them and HRC didn't - that's all that really matters at this point. 304 - 227 is the final score. Honestly, I don't care how many passing TDs HRC had in the loss. Good for Citizen Hillary.
