It isn't a technicality. This is the part that's troubling. There is another election in four years. Trump narrowly beat a tragedy of a candidate, and pretending that isn't the case is a terrible idea.

No. That is the total margin for three states.

subvert a constitutionally installed President's authority

I never suggested that. Trump won. I'd prefer he not lose in 2020.

304 - 227 is the final score.

shite like this is exactly what I'm talking about. To stick with the idiotic football analogies constantly thrown around, if you turn the ball over 10 times are you going to ignore that just because you won the game? No.

If he continues over the next four years like he has done the last month you might very well see Reagan's legacy replaced with a bigger landslide win.

He has been dominating things for a month and still has four weeks until he is President.

Exactly.

Yep. He hasn't been sitting back with responses amounting to "304 - 227 is the final score."

I'm not going to pretend like I lost the game, either. Yeah, we work on turnovers the next week.

Trump is a political savant, though - to keep with the:

idiotic football analogies

He's the Waterboy from the film of the same name. "Coaching him up" isn't going to work. If you're going to suggest he go "full progressive" to appeal to a broader electorate, that isn't going to happen. Trump's pretty liberal on most social issues - and I would expect he will focus on his campaign themes - getting control of our immigration problem, renegotiating trade deals (with some protectionism, I'm sure), grow the economy, repeal Obamacare - get back to business, so to speak.

It will either work or it won't - the Dems won't run Hillary or anyone as bad as her in 2020 - but they'll be running against an incumbent with a record, not a cartoon with bad hair. So, your concern about these ~78k folks is completely hindsighted and flawed - that election is over. The next one is 4 years away. It will be a completely different dynamic.

In some ways, it will hurt Trump because he built up so much momentum during the primaries - while I expect there will be a few primary challengers, tokens if nothing else, it certainly won't be flirting with 1/2 dozen. And, if what I believe happens with the Dems - they go hard left, it will be a tough case to sell an America with a taste of a return to old-fashioned, successful capitalism.

But, I could be wrong. I'm not wrong about the 78k being irrelevant, though. I'm completely right about that.

I now believe the single biggest issue in the entire world is Islam. Europe did it wrong. Trump has a chance to do it right. I agree with Sam Harris that if Clinton had simply been honest after Orlando, she would have won (if 1 in 100 Trump voters had voted for her, she would have won.) Instead, she talked about gun control and then lectured Middle America on so-called Islamophobia.

Islam is absolutely not compatible with western civilization and has no place existing in it. It's like oil and water and trying to mesh them together is just impossible and attempts to do so are dangerous and only end in disaster. Islam belongs in the mideast and should be kept there.

Good to see you coming to terms with this harsh reality.

Indeed. We sure as hell don't ignore them and hope they go away.

I haven't given any indication of that.

I should hope he does. I expect his supporters to fall in line as well.

You're completely wrong about that. Luckily, Trump probably won't be in four years. You can be damn sure the Democrats won't be.

Mine were still up for my last vacation. I think they changed it up when we cracked that code.
