No, the State has fallen further behind. To Parish's credit they identified a winner with the cloudy/turbid IPA. Problem is, they couldn't reproduce it. The truth is that even when GiTM is at its best it's barely inside the Top 20 of its style. LA still hasn't nailed a BA beer of any form and stouts and sours are effectively nonexistent. The truth hurts, there's not a single beer in LA that would crack the top 20 in NC or Florida. LA doesn't even compete in its own region much less the nation. It's progressing, but at a snails pace. I'm still trying to reconcile how a State with such a rich culinary history can readily produce and accept such mediocre beers.
