Light transmission has nothing to do with tube size. Bigger tube just gives you more elevation and windage. Light transmission comes from the quality of the glass and the objective size.

bigger tube = wider range of adjustment, increased rigidity. that's all. shite, even most 30mm scopes from guys like Vortex use 1" erector systems
