Another note I don't think this board represents the fanbase incredibly accurately

Case in point: when O was hired, the Rant was a whirling dervish of posters tearing their garments and gnashing their teeth. In real life, the VAST majority of people I've spoken to either preferred O or were at least mildly approving of the hire (even if they preferred someone else).

The problem is you have a bunch of pimple popping, video game playing losers that can act like tough guys on the internet. They have never won at anything, and are jealous of people who achieve, so they are nega, psuedo bad asses on sites like this.

I guess his recent decisions have invalidated some of what you just said.

how do you define the difference between "criticize" and "rip?" Very thin distinction, I would guess.

This is big-time college football. Big expectations, big pressure, big business. Players knew exactly what they were getting into when they signed their scholarship papers.

I'd suggest you grow a thicker skin. And if you don't want to read criticism, don't come on this board.

Fournette played hurt all year and shouldn't have put on a uniform until he was 100%. Kudos to him for wanting to play hurt.

If they are THAT drastically affected by something on a message board, perhaps they should find another profession.

Don't mistake the attention hungry internet trolls for actual LSU fans voicing their opinions.

Are some fans disappointed about his not making the bowl game... sure, but at the same time they appreciate what he has done for the team and are looking forward to seeing him in the NFL.

The Rant has never truly reflected the mentality of LSU fans.

When I posted "you". I meant "you people"
That post wasn't to "you". It was to Earthquake.
"You" are clearly too much of a badass on that keyboard for me to look for "you".

As a parent of a former player for the Tigers, I want to say to Some, not all but to Some, please keep in mind that players, recruits, and parents read these message boards, so to be ripping into players because they didn't play up to your standards is a d $$m Shame.
I am not saying a player shouldn't be criticize when they do something wrong, but to rip players who are trying their best and given their all is disgusting

Serious question.

Does it bother you as a parent more than it bothers the players themselves? I get the parent part of wanting to protect our kids regardless of their age, status in life, etc.. But this age group of players we are talking about is the BIGGEST that abuses trolling, Social Media bashing, etc.. You're telling me they can't take what is said on a message board? This is the life they live every day.

I honestly find it hard to believe they even care. They know the "source" of the bashing, ripping, etc. and it is beyond me that they would give a flip at all.

On another note, the attraction that makes TD as large as it is, even to other fan bases, is the relative freedom that is allowed in posting. ALL fan bases bash players, coaches, etc. but some boards really police that. TD is pretty wide open with lots of leeway which attracts posters from all over, some for LSU and some not. Part of what makes TD great is also what makes it bad.

I say it again kids like Gilmore or Harris who come in and give their all and play their hearts out shouldn't be knock down because they didn't live up to fans expectations. Everyone knows when a player break teams rule or get in trouble with the law he is fair game, or even when they have a bad game they will be talked about, but to constantly put down on players over and over is a bit over board.

The only NCAA QB to beat Saban led gumps twice, and one of 3 QBs in LSU history to beat them more than once.

I agree Earthquake, some of these people never played the game, then they sit back and wait to say terrible things about the kids that's working hard to get better.I take a pen and paper and write down the name of all these arse holes so that I don,t run into them nor comment on any bullshite they put on TD.

He beat Vandy twice with around 100yd and 150yd efforts completing something like 30\50 combined.
In 50 years of watching LSU, I've seen much worse starters before him and since.
