For those of you who disagree with my opinion that Herman is overrated and we are better off by not hiring him, you act like kids and mental midgets by resorting to name calling of anybody who disagrees with you. Read more and grow a better vocabulary. On Herman:
1. He didn't want to be at LSU or in Louisiana, played us to get his dream school, and seems like he and his hot wife may have been cultural misfits in S. La. We are different -- remember.
2. He is the next in line, overhyped, without a long HC track record coaching prophet much like many on this board ball lick who's star eventually falls. Rich Rod, Kelly, Patterson, Muschamp, Strong, and probably Kirby Smart in a year or two if Georgia doesn't improve from the crap show this year.
3. I don't like his offense or defensive schemes, and his team regressed this year in a second tier league.
4. From people I know in Houston and also from input on this board, he was not a very well thought of coach in the Cougar locker room --- which sometimes shows up in hot and cold on field performances.
None of us nor does anyone ever know for sure if a new coach will succeed. I don't. Having been involved with LSU football for 40 years, the vibe and energy along the Gulf Coast, within the program, with the player alumni, with the HS coaches along I-10 ----- most are very pleased with the O hire. With 2 great coordinators and some expected success, he has a chance to become a great hire at LSU. From my view, a better chance of winning consistently and big over time than a hyped wiz kid who wishes that he was at Texas, USCw, or tOSU more than coaching at LSU.

This isn't surprising, Louisiana and Mississippi are consitently at the bottom when it comes to education.
