Do you think we will ever see another player refuse to play for a team if drafted by them? Not because of money, but because the player flat out refuses to play for a certain organization. The mock draft got me thinking how horrible it would be to get drafted by the Browns.

Anyone see that ever happening again?

Can we please not give Eli credit there?

He clearly took it straight out of Elway's playbook.

In all fairness to Elway, he had the New York Yankees as a bargaining chip.

Elway was drafted in 83 Everett in 86.

I don't know why any QB would want to play for the Browns, so I could see it happening with them next year.

Eli wasn't the first and I'm sure he won't be the last

That trade was a big win for san diego they got phillip rivers and a bunch of picks and I think one even became shawne merriman who was a beast in the NFL till injuries ruined him. Weren't the chargers like 14-2 or 13-3 and the top seed in the AFC a couple years back? Eli has definitely had better teams built around him, but Rivers isn't a terrible QB. Honestly they're both about equal QB's and when you throw in the other picks SD made a good deal. Eli has 2 super bowls and I cant even explain it other than teams getting hot at the right time.

did he? The were 7-7 in 2011 and "got hot" by beating to other mediocre teams and then winning 4 playoff games. Kudos to them for winning it all, but wasn't really a great team.

his defensive lines were really nasty if you remember with JPP,justin tuck, etc. They definitely had a lot of luck, that super bowl catch was ridiculous, but Id say Rivers or even Big Ben from that draft have been better than Eli statistically.

I am legit amazed that people have not done this to the brownies yet. I am a die hard browns fan and I think I would even refuse to play for them if I were an incoming player.

True, but you gotta think that long term it would probably earn you more money.

if the browns add Myles Garrett their defense will be pretty nasty here's a few starters all 1st-3rd rounders

Myles Garrett
Danny Shelton
Carl Nassib
Emmanuel Ogbah
Jamie Collins
Demario Davis
Christian Kirksey
Joe Haden
Jamar Taylor

I really dont know why they can't even field a decent defense. The offense has weapons at running back, wide receiver, a good tight end, and a pro bowl left tackle. I really dont know why they're so damn awful that defense shouldn't be that horrible.

Yea, nasty on paper...very, very shitty on the actual field. Trust me, I have watched all their games this year.
