What record does Orgeron have to have to keep his job next year?

Does Orgeron survive a 6-6 or 7-5 season next year?
How many losses get him fired next year?
Or, does he get a free pass and could go 4-8 or 5-7 and keep his job?
Obviously, if he wins 8 or 9 games, he will be retained. But what about 6 or 7?

Alleva will probably ride it out no matter what hoping for a miracle. Then they will both be shitcanned after two years.

Yeah, he'd survive as a first year head coach if he went bowling while playing in the SEC West.

Why is 8-4 good enough now?
Posted on 12/13/16 at 1:54 pm to AlaTiger
He should win his first 5. He could easily lose the next 4(at UF, AU, at Ole Miss, at Alabama). The next 3 --- Arkansas, UT, TA&M --- will make or break his season.

Why?
I expect 10+ every year. We all should. This is fricking LSU, damnit.

6-6
No excuses with a team full of Miles players IMO
7-5 too
9-3 should be the measure for year 1 IMO but many won't agree

He obviously has to improve on Miles' record. That's why we hired him.

Holy fricking shite, no!!!
Hell, 8 wins would be dicey imo.
The West is down right now. 4 OOC wins, Miss State, and A&M should be locked in as wins.
If he can't go better than 2-4 against the only good teams on our schedule, and that's including Arkansas and a rebuilding OM and Tenn, the binder should be closed.

I agree with you, but can you imagine the backlash if LSU fired a first year head coach that went 7-5 or 8-4 playing an SEC West schedule?

Remember Jerry Stovall...Coach O will not be treated any differently much is given much is expected.

If he doesn't win 10 games it's more a failure than it already has been

Imagine the backlash if we fired the winningest coach in program history for doing exactly that and then replaced him with his own DL coach.
If it wasn't good enough for Miles to be retained why the hell would it be good enough for O

I dont care how many wins LSU has, first year goal under Orgeron should be to win the west.

It's not, but LSU will have a new head coach, OC, and a number of position coaches next year, while losing quite a lot of talent... And they'll be running a new offense. No way he gets fired if he goes 8-4 in his first year.

Umm we just fired our last coach for doing that. The precedent is set. We have the talent.

LOL, we fired Miles because it WASN'T!

We should be winning more than what Miles averaged, right? I mean, that's why we fired Miles.
So with that, I say 10 wins or more annually is a must now. If not, why did we fire Miles?
PS-I know why Miles was fired and agree with it.

10-2 if not, why was Miles fired then?

Bull shite. O was hired literally because of the continuity argument. No way he should get any passes. If 8-4 gets Les fired, 8-4 should get O fired, first year or not.
