Hmmm.... Like political appointees?
Exactly. These "administration officials" need to stand-up and take credit for their comments. I am sick of anonymous sources.
Furthermore, even if the CIA/NSA really told them this, I just find it hard to believe they know exactly who hacked the machines. Even if they somehow traced the guy back to Russia (via some secret NSA monitoring capability), it doesn't necessarily mean he had anything to do with Putin or the Kremlin. There are tons of "freelance" hackers in Russia. And any decent hacker is going to make it very hard to track his real location (though, I admit the NSA may have secret capabilities to do this).
Moreover, the attack was not sophisticated -- it doesn't take the Kremlin to pull-off a spear phishing attack. They are a dime a dozen on the Internet.
All in all, this is nothing more than the Democrats trying to deflect attention away from the corruption that the hackers exposed. Notice how now they have changed their tune. During the campaign they kept saying "Russia wants Trump to win." Now they are saying "Well, the Russians really don't care who won, they just wanted to create havoc." There's a YUGE difference in those two allegations.
