Will Boeing and Lockheed open a call center in the U.S. to deal with technical problems the Indians encounter?

It'll be sad to watch liberals crow and beat their chests every time a job is offshored under Trump- you know they will.
I hope they and Trump supporters do the same thing...simply hold him to his promise.....and yes, there will still be jobs offshored....but Trump made the correct promises that will prevent it...and labor took him at his word because he is not a politician and therefore it is expected that he has an honest bone hidden somewhere in his body. Labor was willing to overlook the obvious flaws....even blacks and hispanics, who despite white protests to the contrary, are the only people capable of judging who is and who isn't a racist prick IN THEIR WORLD....were willing to overlook the blemishes in large numbers and vote for Trump based on his promise to renegotiate trade deals and tariff products that cost American jobs.
I think Trump was sincere about these issues...I truly do think he is a blue collar billionaire...real estate development ain't the easiest way to a billion dollars...what I doubt is that he can manipulate the people who enjoy the benefits of things like NAFTA....the Carriers of the world who can make more money and do so with the blessing of the President...I think they will prevent him from doing anything he promises....but that doesn't excuse him...he had still better pay up or labor will turn on him...

Or India can do what they planned on doing and buy Migs or the Eurofighter instead.
Yes, yes they can....and so what if they do? Their buying MIGS would not be possible if we hadn't kept them and Pakistan from one another's throat for the last 40 years or so....they would probably have no choice but to fly MIGS if they flew anything at all because they would both be either Russia or Chinese today. Trump says he is going to insist that they pay for that kind of protection. We will see. I don't how he plans to do so with plans to increase military spending because the strength of the US Military abroad is the source of that protection and with more money that strength will only grow.....but we will see. He is saying the right things...we will see if he is capable of pulling it off...the cocksucker got elected when no one thought he could....

Are you naive enough to believe this decision was made in the last 4 weeks?

How many military installations do we have in India and POHKistan?
Posted on 12/9/16 at 7:43 am to TJGator1215
In effect, Trump will be inflating the cost of producing the Military which he professes to rebuild and make better than ever before. That inflation (inflated money/increased National Debt) will be kept in the hands of OUR Citizens, who will in turn spend it on more stuff...made in OUR Nation. The economy expands, income taxes collected rises (somewhat offsetting Deficit)...while the Debt likely increases. Government credit bubble.
How this works out is way over my head. I don't think anybody knows.

We don't need bases to provide protection my friend. We have weapons that can be deployed from all over the world....and we have personnel in India and in Pakistan...the fact that there is a US Military on the planet is enough to prevent Russia or China from making a move that they really don't want to make in the first place....the knowledge that if they make said move the US will react and the US is not a small consideration keeps them from doing so. India and Pakistan BOTH enjoy that protection...leaders from both nations have told their citizens for years that they can't invade their neighbor because the US will intervene OR they don't have to worry about an invasion because the US will intervene...meanwhile Western companies have invested trillions of dollars in both nations providing domestic tranquility of a sort in both places and the only way that capital would have ever considered doing so is with some assurance that the US Military will be a stablizing force in the region and the world. It doesn't require bases...it requires a presence in the space between the ears...

You realize that India paying Boeing and Lockheed to make jets in India doesn't mean jobs would leave the US, right?
It's not like they would close factories here and move their base of operations there.
Trumps issue with trade is preventing US companies from closing factories and firing US workers only to build abroad and try to import back to the US.
US companies expanding to other countries to supply those other countries with goods and services is not an issue.
But thanks for trying to reach for something to bitch and cry about.
Melt more, idiot.

ABsolfrickinglutely!!!! I ain't singling out India and Pakistan (neither of which would be nuclear powers had we not kept them from one another's throat). I don't think our new president has singled any single nation out either...I think (I may be wrong) that he has said all of our allies are going to have to pay up or accidents may happen (I know that aint what he said but his coming from New Jersey he couldve LOL).
We have been subsidizing the world's manufacturers since the end of the second world war....the fact that we provide something of a stablizing force in the world keeps markets open and makes trade of any sort possible. We have done this because US companies benefitted and before technology made it possible to eliminate US workers US workers benefitted....but those workers have taken all they are willing to take...and fully expect Trump to fulfill his campiagn promise to bring jobs back and make our allies pay their share of the bill. And I think Trump intend to do so....I think he is going to have a hard time because the system is entrenched and he he has already said he would increase military spending which will make his asking for payment from our allies fall on deaf ears. But he tapped into workers needs and got elected...I am willing to overlook social security, medicare, the EPA...all of that will take care of itself....if he will fulfill his promise to tariff products, ask for payment from our allies and lower or eliminate (my words, not his) corporate taxes....those 3 things will make American labor strong like it should be and they will then have time to focus on things like shoring social security and the EPA....like Labor did in the first place!

would you fly a jet made in India?
Apparently pilots in India would fly jets made in India, which is the point. If I read the post correctly, in order to sell the jets to India, the Indian government is requiring the manufacturing to be done locally. So, if companies don't stand up plants there, they won't make the sale to India, which means the aircraft wouldn't be made in the USA either way. But, if they do locate the assembly plants there, how many American jobs result due to manufacturing of components in America, as well as the continued material supply and component repair support that will be required for years to come after the sale is made?

ALL of the tooling is owned by the USAF, so.... it appears to me parts made at Air Force plant no.4 will be shipped to India and assembled there.

You are aware that India and Pakistan both have nuclear weapons aren't you? I would see that as a deterrent. Our relationship with India hasn't always been great. If I'm not mistaken India also has an operational navy with carriers that actually work. I'm not sure how much they depend on us for security.
