Dating back to the 2003 team, what would you say is the pecking order of our qbs that have started a game..im thinking it's out of ;Mauck,Randall, davey ,periloux, russell, flynn, hatch, lee, jefferson, jennings, mettenberger, harris, jefferson, ettling.am I missing anyone? No particular order here but I think it has to start at russell or Lynn And end at hatch or jennings rite?

Here we go... You know this will turn into a Flynn vs. Russell thread right?

Let's go back to 2001, because I love me some Rohan. He just won.
I'll rank them based on who I would want as the starter for a season, including leadership and attitude (which is why JR will drop despite being the most talented by far.)

1. Davey
2. Flynn
3. Mett
4. Mauck
5. Russell
6. Lee
7. Randall
8. Perriloux
9. Harris
10. Jennings

11. Hatch

12. Jefferson

Imo lee is too high and jefferson beat the gumps...jennings is the worst or hatch who didn't play much but beat auburn..lee was pick six city that first year too

..my bad I forgot Rohan was before Mauck. Love Rohan to reed connection. I'm only 28 ,so I'll ask ,who was before rohan?Josh booty? He's from my hometown.then herb Tyler before that rite? Periloux had potential.

Hodson was a winner with escability. Best freshman I've seen play QB at LSU. I go back to 69.
Bert was the most gifted. period. On any of the teams you mentioned he is more talented than the starter, including 2006. He would have won a Heisman or 2 in today's game. That elease and strength. Touch with a cannon. Man he was great.

only makes Jamarcus' case stronger. keep the rah rah stuff, give me a dude that can shake off mistakes and lead comebacks, and play thru injury. it's him at the top and it ain't close.

Bc being the starting QB of our last national championship team who also happen to win the Offensive MVP in that National championship game makes you overrated

His qb rating was 125.8 10 points lower than danny Etlings this season he threw a lot of picks and his ypg was also lower than Etlings . Jj and Lee also had higher Qb ratings. Just saying he's overrated. You wouldn't put justin vincent in our top 5 rbs just because he was the sec and national title game MVP would you?

Dude I could sit down, pull up youtube, and watch a more enjoyable matt flynn highlight tape than a JJ9 and JL12 PUT TOGETHER! And let me say it yet again, HE LEAD US TO OUR LAST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

In my mind, Flynn was the trigger man for the most dynamic offense in LSUs history. That offense was never stopped and carried the team to a NC, and Flynn ran it well enough to get himself into the NFL. I'm actually surprised his stats aren't better.

2003 Mauck had good numbers but several games that year he and the offense struggled and the defense had to bail the team out. Several times that year I actually felt better when the defense was on the field. And maybe I'm wrong but I don't recall the NFL drafting Mauck.

Well I agree mauck had a terrible championship game. He also had a far superior defense but total body of work in their best seasons Maucks blows flynns out if the water in every way. Gotta remember until after the Florida game our running game in 03 wasn't that great and Mauck carried the offense for almost half the season. I can't remember if he was drafted but he made it in a team for a couple seasons.

Give me Davey all day long. Love that guy. Great player, great team player, and outstanding leader. He brought the best out of his teammates. That 2001 offense was tough to stop at end of year! Why we changed and decided to run only against Ole Miss still baffles me.
