Under contract for a house in NOLA. Going through home inspection period right now. Last home we bought was in BR. Inspection in BR was ~$200.00. Quote from the inspector that was recommended to us here in NOLA was $450.00.
Wondering from those of you in the NOLA area who have had recent home inspections if $450.00 is the reasonable/going rate, or if we should shop around for someone less expensive. Any recs on inspectors would be welcome as well.
inb4 culcha, nola is a hellhole, you get what you pay for, OT Trashy.

When you're spending 6 figures, what's $150?

That's about right. How long ago did you buy the house in BR? $200 seems low.

Highly recommend Henry & Hatchett. I believe they charge around $425. Didn't have a favorable experience with Gurtler Bros.

I just paid $450 a few months ago in Mandeville. Seems to be the going rate fwiw.

Purchased BR house in 2012. Maybe it was just a cheap rate. Seems like $450 is pretty much the consensus going rate. Just wanted to check and confirm that before I got shafted.

My brain tells me not to pick the lowest price on a home inspection.
