I can't understand him just up and leaving his team like that. No matter how much tension there is. He's in the middle of a championship run.

He can come to LSU and still coach the tide. He wouldn't be the first coach to do such a thing.

All I know is it doesn't help how people perceive him and he'd have zero problem doing it to LSU for a job.

I think that would be a pretty unprecedented move. Coaches that remain at their school for a championship opportunity after taking another job are usually doing so after getting a promotion, not making a lateral move within their division. You're assuming Saban would even want him to stay and that's likely a stretch in this scenario also.
