I've had my season tickets since the mid 90s, so I may be way out of the loop these days on this, but my cousin told me years ago that there was like a 5 year waiting list to get season tickets. Is that no longer the case?
It's all about your priority points and how much you have given to TAF. If you give a little every year you wait longer. If you give a lot then you can get them the first year. Just takes money. So no, 5 years is not accurate.

I plan on buying season tickets fir the first time this year. I really don't care where we end up this year, I just want to have good seats 5-6 years down the road

The East Side Upper is where I sit. I like the seats, but it can be brutal up there for day games.

About 1/2-to-3/4 way up the lower West side in 105 or 104 is the best in the entire stadium.
The site lines to the field are great, the band is just to your left, you have a great view of the student section which is to your left and below you, you are diaganal from the opposing fans/band (which adds to the color/pageantry) in the SE side, and you are biased to looking south which is where the stadium is largest with the SEZ upper deck and big screens, the band plays towards you at half, and you get a great view of the LSU team on the sidelines for injuries and player/coach interaction. If you sit high enough, you will be near the players families, who mostly sit in 105 at this height, and many of the recruits as well. Get next to a concession/bathroom entrance, and it is even better. Also, the sun is behind the West Upper deck and not in your eyes as on the east side.
The bad news is the TAF fee per seat is about $950/year, and you won't get these seats for a while.

Interestingly, TAF rep told me that they are anticipating many stadium club south contracts ending this season. Said he thought my TAF rank would be close for club south?? I wouldn't buy those at this point. I think only seats I would buy would be lower bowl, preferably on west side. Only would buy a pair at this point, but hope to later get 4 good tix for wife and kids to go to games. Kids are too young now. Will just apply, pay my 2017 donation, and see what happens. Does just having ANY season tix in your name give you any TAF advantage for better tix later?
