Jeez, what a melt!
No shite! Everybody would. However, there aren't a whole hell of lot of Drew Brees' in college. There are many more Vicks. And by the way don't forget Vick, as a RS Freshman, led Va. Tech to the national title game.
Just look at some of the great teams over the last 10 years of college football.
Tebow was a dual threat (DT) guy. He led UF to a national title. Auburn doesn't have a title without Cam. They also made it back to the championship game with a DT QB who was just an average thrower at best. Ohio St. and Oregon have had great success with DT guys, so have other teams.
LSU's problem was not that they had DT QBs. It was that they tried to force DT QB's into a very confined pocket-based offense. Square peg/round hole.
You can absolutely win with DT QBs in college. If that is the type of offense O wants to run, then an immobile pocket guy may not be a great fit. If you are going to have a great offense you either have to (a) adjust your scheme to fit your players or (b) recruit the right guys to fit your scheme. Miles didn't do either when it came to the QB spot

I'd rather have a Drew Brees any day than a Michael Vick.
