Windshield man Exxon and chevron both trade over 100x earnings do you realize how gross that is unless you're a tech co growing revenues every quarter like Amazon or tesla? It's gross and all those oil companies stocks and the pigs who hold them at these valuations will be slaughtered mark my words. The dividends are safe now bc of cash reserves but the payout ratios are not sustainable in any meaningful way. If you pay out 6-8x earnings in dividends then unless earnings ramp back up you cannot maintain it long term. Mark this post and we will talk again I recently went short chevron at $110+ and will hold the risk/reward is not there on the long side at these levels
Yea I see what you ar saying, ahem, cough. I just need XOM to get to $100 per share and BP to get to $50 and I'm good to sell

Cvx is where it was at $100 oil, you find no issue with that? I just think the pigs are ripe for slaughter here nobody can buy and hold at these levels based on fundamentals bc they're so far behind and these are not hypergrowth companies where that is an acceptable reason to overpay for future earnings. Oil companies trade 8-10x earnings not 100x for a reason, retail piling in here is asking for devastation

I've had both BP and XOM for several years now. Understand I was just kidding around with my post and thought I made it clear with last sentence in post. I have collected a lot of dividends. I got in XOM at 82 and 70, BP not good luck, in at 42 and 30. I'm just hoping they go up a little more. Hoping to sell XOM somewhat soon. Not saying you are wrong at all.

If you're up that much trust me when I say you should look into selling them at these inflated levels and thank me when they come back down to earth. There's a lot of built in hype bc of trump right now but earnings will not be normalizing for these valuations anytime soon

oil is literally being found in every corner of the world, a new mega field was found in Texas, the price is still too high considering it's not as rare as we once thought it was
with prices as low as they are, no one is going to invest in drilling for that.

does this mean it's safe to polish up the ole truck nuts?

Still subject to an agreement with non-OPEC countries and a whole bunch of other issues.
Maybe make sure the truck nuts aren't repo'd but don't break them out yet.
