For instance, I usually do all my eating in my 8-9 hour window but will drink beer late a night or two a week.
As long as the beer fits within your caloric limit, I wouldn't stress over it. The science behind IF is widely debated, so I won't try to steer you either way. Based on what I've personally gathered, IF is a means to staying under your calorie limit without restricting too much what/how much you eat. Instead, you are only restricting when you eat.
I don't really buy into IF increasing your "fat burning hormones", though plenty of people do, but I think it is a great too for staying under your calories, which in turn means losing weight.

Cut out all the milk and sugar

Paleo diet. Workout. Strictly no alcohol, dairy, sugar. Results are amazing. Try it a month if you are serious about dropping fat and gaining muscle. No reason to put lab made chemicals in your body when nature has already done the work for you.
This this this. Except I can't cut the alcohol so I'm not strictly Paleo but I'm close

well it does make you release gh but causing the 176-191 amino chain to help in burning fat specifically belly fat but anybody that says it had some crazy effects from just the hormone release is dumb.
Like you said in the end if it fits your macros thats all that matters.
Lean gains works so good for a few reasons
*you are either working out fasted or you are carb backloading
*carb cycling
*calorie cycling
*mega protein
there are other things but thats the jist of it.
I always just recommend IIFYM combined with IF or low carb combined with IF. I find people tend to stick to one of these as they are pretty simple concepts.

I want to try intermittent fasting but it needs to be super easy for me to follow. Can you do that or do you have a link? Do I wake up and not eat for 6 hours, then eat whatever I want for 4 hours, then not eat until the next day?

It doesn't have to be so complicated.
If you want to minimize muscle loss while cutting fat (it's nearly impossible to not lose some muscle unless you're doping) just make sure your diet is getting adequate protein , continue to lift, and don't cut your calorie deficit by too much.
That's really it.

Yep. You won't see drastic change unless you start doping.

Can one have a teaspoon of Metamucil and water, and black coffee when fasting on IF diet before you eat? I'm ok with 12-8 pm eating window, just wondering about drinking a teaspoon of Metamucil and black coffee.

One source said coffee and water are fine
Posted on 11/29/16 at 9:49 am to SabiDojo
Thanks. Even with a tsp of fiber supplement, Metamucil?

Fasting is EXTREMELY easy...at least for me. Great results too and I feel great!
My daily IF schedule is below:
Eat first meal at 2:00 PM. East last meal no later than 7:00 PM but I try to finish by 6:00 PM if possible. Ideal window is 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
I simply eat healthy small portioned meals druing my food window.
IF causes weight to melt off quickly and stays off and you feel BETTER and more ENERGIZED! Much more alert.
I only needed to lose 15 pounds to be at my ideal weight. I started one month ago and I've lost 11 pounds.
I also workout while in a state of fasting.
If I get hungry while fasting, I simply drink water and that quenches the hunger. I never find myself counting the hours or minutes until my first meal. I'm never really hungry. If anything I sometimes challenge myself to stay in a state of fasting longer than the previous day.
It's actually somewhat a game for me. It's fun!

Once in ketosis you supposedly don't lose muscle while losing weight since muscle cannot break down into ketones, only fat can. So you could try a ketosis diet.

Chicken, brown rice and broccoli
never fails

Keto Diet with IF will quickly yield incredible results!
However, just a dedicated IF schedule alone will yield very positive results.
The Keto Diet is very hard to maintain. I recommend first starting with an IF schedule and once you've become dedicated to that schedule, perhaps play around with a Keto or Paleo Diet.
However, if all you do is dedicate yourself to an IF routine...you'll be happy with the results.
Remember, IF is NOT A DIET. It's a routine. You don't necessarily change the food you eat. You're just changing WHEN you eat.

Best weightlifting /exercise advice I can give to anyone,if you take longer than 30 minutes to lift you're doing something wrong.
For instance, split (chest, tris, back, etc.) no muscle group can withstand a strenuous workout for more than a half hour. Capacity capacity capacity, and I lift pretty heavy.

ok so IF is pretty simple. I suggest most people start with the 16/8 schedule as its the easiest and then work from there.
so
Noon- first meal(normal lunch time)
6pm- Normal dinner with the family
8pm- small snack
now from this you can play around with the schedule. My personal results are best when I eat all of my meals from 1pm to 5pm but that is not always easy.
as far as what to eat, I suggest you use myfitnesspal and log your foods for 2 weeks. If possible weigh your foods and cook yourself. From there adjust. Personally I think the simpliest way is to follow the iifym calculator macros and just try to hit them and continue this for 3 to 4 weeks and adjust from there.
as far as what you can have in the fast, black coffee is fine, stevia or splenda drops are fine. Rule of thumb is no more than 30cals during the fasting period so metamucil would be fine.
now for most, best results are going to come from lifting three days a week while fasted or doing light fasted cardio(like walking) plus lifitng in the afternoon three days a week. If you are just starting the greyskull lp would be best then moving to reverse pyramid training while following the leangains approach to carb cycling and high protein.
for me personally to lose weight I prefer to IF and go extreme. I combine it with a fat fast for 10 days at a time eating only 1000cals a day with 90% coming from fat or I do 2-3 weeks of the rapid fatloss book diet (800-1000cals with atleast 95% coming from protein). But for most this is not doable. My absolute best results are using the fat fast for 10 days doing only bullet proof coffee, no solid food, but I do not reccommend that.
btw before anybody start screaming about losing muscle, you can do crazy low cals and not lose muscle so long as greater than 90% of cals come from fat. Can also do it with greater than 95% from protein. read the fat fast cookbook, it links the studies, and lyle mcdonalds rapid fatloss handbook for more info.

I take a scoop of adrenaline cuts, I get itchy as frick and feel like I'm on cocaine. Then I go workout. I do rowing 4 days a week as well. I love fried chicken. I take B12, d, multi vitamin, l carnitine, green tea, fish oil.
That's my advice.

You want to shed BF?
Moderate cardio as soon as you wake up for 30-45 min.
Light cardio, like walking, for 15 min after 7pm.
Lift heavy shite during the day, like benching 325+, squatting 400+ and deadlifting 500+.
