Some people on this board think Alleva/LSU
should have offered whatever amount of money
it took to get _______ as Head Coach and offer
Dave Aranda whatever it takes to get him to stay at LSU.

Are all those empty rooms underneath tiger stadium filled gold?

As much as I love LSU football, this is lunacy.

The program made 133 million last year. It could afford whoever it wanted. Yet it gave 3.5 mil to a 10-25 head coach. Smart and wise fiscal decision.

Is that you Mrs. Alleva?

Yes, they are filled with gold and winning puts more gold there. LSU could have spent whatever was necessary to get a proven HC but that was never the plan.

You realize LSU's revenue is in the top 6 nationally and in the top 3 in the conference and that is not counting on what TAF brings to the table. LSU has the money to pay 5-6 million, but went good ole baw cheep.

Isn't LSU the only sec school and one of only a few FBS schools where the athletic department donates to the academic side of the university.

I think they have the $$$$ to spend

I always love hearing idiots complain about athletic programs taking all the school's money, despite the fact that it's 100% paid for by donors and has nothing whatsoever to do with tuition.

Given the salaries of Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, etc. they probably have the money to do even more than 5-6.

It took me almost 36 years to acknowledge that a majority of our fans are dysfunctional idiots. Thought it was just a vocal minority. Walmarks GED sidewalk alums. They have ruined our fan base.

Jimbo would have gotten 6.5-6.8 if he wanted to come. They weren't gonn pay Herman more than 5m and some change. O took a lot less to assemble an all star staff. Let's hope this strategy works. Ppl worry about staff leaving but when they are paying more than mid majors pay their HC's and become the highest paid asst's I don't think turnover will be as bad as some think

You love LSU football but think they can't/shouldn't pay for a great coach? Seems backwards to me.
