I ordered an external enclosure that doesn't get here til Monday to see if it can read that way.

I'd have suggested a USB to IDE/SATA cable/adapter. It's actually a handy device to have around. Think you're on the right track for the time being.

So I ended up ordering a 4 TB replacement/upgrade forthe drive just because. I got around to installing it this morning, so Iunplugged all of my functioning SATA drives (power and data) so I could re do my cable management when I installed the SSD's plus my new 4 TB.

Long story short, 3 out of my 4 hard drives died today. Took it into Fry's to get them to test it with their equipment and the problem was that I used a Corsair SATA power cable in my Thermaltake power supply. Either the cable was faulty or the brands are incompatible, because they used it to hook up my DVD drive and it died.

Anyone heard of this? Can I not use a SATA power cable from a corsair kit on a thermaltake power supply?
