I'd be fine with a 5-year guaranteed, 5-year option contract. Realistically, if he wins a NC in his first 5 years, he'd be getting a raise / extension anyway.

If he wanted a iron-clad, locked down $6.5M / 10yr deal, that would be absolutely absurd. Nobody has $65M guaranteed - not even Saban.

Exactly. What's wrong with wanting to keep a consensus top 10 coach for 10+ seasons? It's not like Jimbo was going to fail. We know what we were going to get.
