OK, if it's Herman, how is he perceived as a recruiter?

We know Jimbo can recruit (including in LA), but I don't remember reading anything about Herman's recruiting abilities? Someone please expound. Thanks.

way better than it was at Houston before he got there.

This year they are ranked it the upper 20's. Last year was around 40. I am pretty sure 90 was there best before that. And remember the GOAT sumlin was at Houston

There is no proof Herman can recruit outside of one DT he got to come to Houston who had his brother already there.

Cant coat tail off of Urban for Ohio State success.

So honestly besides the hype there isnt much there.

Well, Herman did just recruit a top 25 at UH which is completely unheard of. It is their highest finish ever in the recruiting rankings. He also just stole possibly the best defensive tackle ever (possibly, still has much to prove) from LSU in Ed Oliver. He is young and determined. He has the mindset of Miami in the 90's where he wants to build a fence around Houston and keep all of the talent in the city, and it's been working. If he could do that to Louisiana, imagine the success he would have.

There's literally no way that the guy in this video is a bad recruiter:

That's what I fear most. No one has talked about his ability to recruit. Don't know if he will connect with LA kids (and the Southeast in general). Ed O went to Houston because his high school coach was offered a position. The recruiting factor is why I would rather have Jimbo.

Agree completely. Herman is young and is willing to do gimmicks like this to attract young players. The whole grill stunt with Paul Wall? Absolutely genius. He also invites famous rappers to the games like Waka Flocka Flame at the Louisville vs UH game. Young guys love this kind of stuff.

He got a 5* recruit to commit to fricking Houston. And those Houston and East Texas ties will easily carry to LSU to go along with being the flagship school of the state with the most NFL talent per capita with zero in state competitors. Throw in a great staff beside him and talent on the roster shouldn't be an issue.
