I am a graduate of LSU 82. Both of my kids attend/attended FSU. I am a die hard tiger fan but look at this as a lateral move for Jimbo. He would probably have more long term success at FSU vs. LSU. The SEC W is brutal, and as long as Satan remains at Bama, LSU is liable to finish no better than second in the West. If Jimbo leaves FSU, it is for personal reasons only. Remember Bobby Bowden contemplating the LSU job back in the late 70's?

In what way is it a lateral move? Better facilities, more money to pay the staff you want, a pretty patient fan base that will forgive a few stumbles far more so than other teams fan bases that play at an elite level and you have a strangle hold on talent in a state with some of the best talent

Have you been on this board lately? You could say worse about Louisiana.

Prepare to be hated on for your common sense. You make a great point. Money isn't everything to everyone and why start over when you're at a great school that you're comfortable at.

Fisher is 51 and Saban is around 64? I think Fisher can trade licks with him for a few yrs until Father Nick retires...

Jimbo isn't so short sighted to not take the LSU job because of Alabama, its such a ridiculous narrative. Saban is 65, not 25, he does have a shelf life. Alabama has gone years sucking as well with many coaching hires not working out. It's just as logical to think that Alabama falls back significantly once Saban retires than it is to think the next coach keeps up the same pace. All that said, Fisher isn't leaving FSU, in my opinion.
