2nd grade. Shreveport.

Watch as the principle lowered flag to half staff outside my classroom. My teacher was crying. We were all sad, but not sure why, really.

This was fifteen years before me. My mother was in the fifth grade at the time I believe at William Pitcher Elementary in Covington. She remembers the principal calling the teacher out of the class for a minute, then she came back in teary-eyed, and told them what happened. The students were dismissed early. She also remembers my grandmother watching the funeral on television. Other than that she doesn't remember much about the assassination.

4th grade classroom, Chicago, IL. They rolled a TV in for us to watch.
