But, if Jimbo comes here, I think it will be due to a combination of wanting a fresh start and the fact that he really did seem to appreciate his time here.

Fair enough. But this seems like an emotional decision rather than a business one. Of course you could be correct, I just don't understand from the business side.

I also believe that LSU is making a really compelling offer that FSU may or may not match. We shall see.

As far as wanting to coach in the SEC, that is more of a competitive drive thing than an emotional decision. Think about this. Did you see Bert leaving a very stable position at Wisconsin to go to a tougher place to win in a tougher conference? I certainly didn't. He wanted to prove himself in the SEC. Sure, he got a raise and more money for a better staff, but a lot of coaches pass on money offers to stay where they are. There is a lot more risk that comes with that money. You have to WANT to make that move.

Would money be considered a business reason?

Because he's not a pussy like the coach we just canned.

Everybody doesn't want the easy road in life. He's already won an NC at fsu and lsu

He was here during the golden years of lsu football, he's one of us now prepare your anus

I don't think FSU is willing to pay as much as LSU. Despite all he has done there, they are still only paying him 5.2M....which is a lot, but 6.8-7.5 is a lot more (Heck, Sumlin and strong almost make as much, and they have done little to nothing).

Also, he has wanted them to pay assistant coaches more so he can keep them longer, but they have (even up till now) not done that to the extent that he wants, and LSU will.

Besides that, yeah, it is basically a lateral move with a nice pay raise, FSU is a great university for recruiting, and their conference schedule is not as bad as the SEC west.
