Yep, but with the way this First Lady look, it doesn't really matter what she wears...

Can you though? I mean you could lie, but could you really change what you believe

I've changed some of my opinions and beliefs as I've gotten older. It's not crazy.

Trump has done the same. Plenty of times.

Perhaps there's an exception to every rule.

I agree with this, it can happen but it's not a choice though.

You believe what you believe, life experiences and exposure determine it not personal preference

But they aren't refusing to design dresses because of HER racism or xenophobia. They are refusing to design dresses because of who her husband is.

Hey man, I hear what you're saying. I'm just seeing this in the way that the irrational left sees this. The assumption that she has adopted all the views of her husband.

Curious as to how it's not.

I used to believe that every single word in the Bible is literal. Every story was as well.

I've since chosen to believe that a lot of the stories in the Bible are for teaching rather than to be believed as fact.

But it stands to reason that most of these bakers would politely decline to make a cake celebrating losing one's virginity.

fair counter

still feels hypocritical - just because it is hidden it is okay. I get your position though. Just giving my opinion.

What were you exposed to that changed your mind?

You can't honestly change your beliefs on a whim, you can do research counter to a belief in an attempt to persuade yourself. But that's all it would be (it can work), your beliefs are what you honestly believe to be true whether you want to or not

Example: without sparking a whole other debate, whether I believe in a God is not my choice. I can tell people what I want and try to believe or not believe, but at the end of the day my life experiences and information I'm exposed to determine it.

Just like I could not make myself believe the earth is flat no matter how hard I tried. I could watch flat earther YouTube videos all day and try my best but it's not completely up to me. its not just some switch you flip, like "I'll believe this today"

But the counter argument to this thread is that gays can't choose who they are, while Melania can choose her beliefs.

But again, the bakers didn't object to the couple being gay, they refused to participate in a gay wedding. Marriages and weddings are social constructs in which the participants most certainly do have a choice.

Because of unsubstantiated claims of racism and xenophobia, but if a Christian baker ever dares once to refuse to make a pastry for someone due to religious reasons, HOLY shite, let's crucify the bastard and ruin his life!

Racism is a lot more taboo than gay marriage.

It was more just realizing why the stories were important in the first place. It's not necessarily important that they're true, but the lessons learned from them.

But I definitely understand where you're coming from though.

Nobody cares about the ruling. It's stupid and unjust.
