I used to believe that every single word in the Bible is literal. Every story was as well.
I've since chosen to believe that a lot of the stories in the Bible are for teaching rather than to be believed as fact.

What were you exposed to that changed your mind?
You can't honestly change your beliefs on a whim, you can do research counter to a belief in an attempt to persuade yourself. But that's all it would be (it can work), your beliefs are what you honestly believe to be true whether you want to or not
Example: without sparking a whole other debate, whether I believe in a God is not my choice. I can tell people what I want and try to believe or not believe, but at the end of the day my life experiences and information I'm exposed to determine it.
Just like I could not make myself believe the earth is flat no matter how hard I tried. I could watch flat earther YouTube videos all day and try my best but it's not completely up to me. its not just some switch you flip, like "I'll believe this today"

But again, the bakers didn't object to the couple being gay, they refused to participate in a gay wedding. Marriages and weddings are social constructs in which the participants most certainly do have a choice.
