He is an outstanding recruiter but i don't feel like Jackson or Toliver have progressed at all. They still don't turn their heads and make plays on the ball. The 98-YD touchdown pass could have been a pick. I'm not sure if that's coaching or just Jackson and Toliver being overhyped but i feel like they both have first round talent.

Corner is hard to play. They get beat sometimes. Tre White last week this week no one caught a damn thing on him.

LSU gave up 16 points yesterday. They've given up 11 touchdowns on the year. Why are we so upset with the performance of the defensive staff?

I think it's more people being tired of this meme that Raymond is "the best DB coach in the country" and completely irreplaceable when the play on the field constantly demonstrates otherwise.

Jackson being thrown down was embarrassing.

Besides a few blown coverages here and there , no one can say anything about our secondary or defense as a whole period.

6 passing touchdowns in 10 games. 192 yards per game. I'm just not seeing the problem.

Just watched the highlights again. Here's a link... forward to about the 1:35 mark of the 4:22 highlight clip to see the TD play.

LINK

Actually, there's a 52 second clip titled GATORS TAKE LEAD ON 98-YARD TD PASS towards the bottom of the page, which shows two perspectives.

Based on the clips, I disagree on a couple of points:

1) Donte did, in fact, turn his head and saw the ball in the air at a certain point.
2) This almost certainly couldn't have been intercepted. Realistically, based on the location of both Cleveland and Donte Jackson when he spots the ball, I don't think many all pro NFL corners would have been able to catch up to the receiver without over-running him as Jackson did and simultaneously worked from inside the receiver to outside position to be in a position to intercept that ball... or even just straight-up leapt up and snatched the ball from in front of him unless he were a foot taller.

I can only guess what should have been happening on that play.

I don't know if Jackson was supposed to jam or not. He didn't.

I don't know if he was purposefully trailing (knowing he had closing speed) or if he got beat by a step. But that was part of the problem.

At that point, it was just luck (for UF) that the QB underthrew it by a half-step. The slight underthrow caused Cleveland to slow up just a hair just when Jackson sped up. And the underthrow actually gave Jackson a slight chance to break it up, which he tried to do... But in doing so, he slightly over-ran Cleveland, got off balance and put himself in a worse position to make the tackle. I think if the ball weren't underthrown, Jackson wouldn't have had any chance to play the ball, but would have been in a much better position to tackle Cleveland by his legs and prevent the TD.

If... Jackson weren't a step behind when the ball was thrown, there's a better chance he could have broken the pass play up. I still don't think he could've intercepted it barring a spectacular, perfectly timed effort.

Hinsight is 20/20. Looking at the replay, Donte's best play was to just plow into the receiver to prevent a catch and take the penalty.

Mills and collins started as freshmen, never really progresses. T white had a great freshman yr, down so and jr year. Toliver, paris and jackson looked very promising as freshmen but never made that next step. If that's who aranda wants next year, I'm for it but I think the position should be evaluated after the season.

To be fair he's a true sophomore in his first full year as a starter but yeah he needs to improve.

Hard to say with toliver because he hasn't played in weeks

Extremely overrated. When not getting beat, he is usually drawing a flag.

I have to disagree... Mills was a hybrid corner and excels at Safety. Jalen Collins was benched early in his career and to his credit had a very improved senior year. Dwayne Thomas has shown significant improvement since returning from his injury...Donte is learning on the job. We do need to examine what is going on with KT2...too much talent not to be on the field

Toliver was suppose to be the next Peterson, which may have been to high of expectations. He never has seemed to gain any confidence out there.

Any team in the country would take Corey Raymond. This is stupid to be shitting on him.
